Viewing Grades

Now that the assignment is uploaded, and you have the professor time to mark it, you will probably want to view your grades.  D2L offers a very simple approach to this that also includes a notification so that you can see from which courses assignments have been marked back to you.

To see your grades in a particular class we will begin from the now familiar home page of the course. At the top of the page you will click on the assessment tab again (the one with the ruler next to it) and select grades.

Depending on how the professor has set up D2L, this page will either have all of the assignments listed, with no marks next to the ones that have not been handed in yet, or it will be empty except for the assignments that have been handed out.

****Special note -  if you have handed assignments in and they are not showing up here after getting them back, there is a chance your professor does not use the D2L grades section. In that case, it is best to speak to your professor about your grades.

When the assignment first gets graded and their is an update to your grades in any class, D2L will notify you. This notification does not go through your e-mail, it will be displayed at the top right of any D2L page that you are signed in to. Simply clicking on the red dot that highlights the "update alerts" button will bring up a drop down menu that will tell you what assignment was graded, for which class it was graded and what percentage you earned. Clicking the link in the drop down menu will automatically bring you to that classes grade book.

At this point there is always a chance you are ready to leave D2L and watch some Netflix or participate in any other college pass time. Before continuing on to any activity, you should log out of the system first. To learn how, simply click here.
